Community Outreach Specialist-Housing​

Location: Lincoln, NE
Employment Type: Full-Time

​

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team and support young adults experiencing housing instability through the Youth Homeless Demonstration Program (YHDP).

In this role, you’ll:

​

  • Provide trauma-informed, strength-based coaching

  • Help participants access housing and supportive services

  • Collaborate with local partners and landlords

  • Facilitate community outreach and educational programs

  • Advocate for youth in crisis and coordinate follow-up support

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intakes and develop individualized goal plans with young adults

  • Assist with identifying and securing housing options

  • Provide referrals and advocacy for participants in crisis

  • Build relationships with community landlords and service providers

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes

  • Represent The HUB at community meetings and events

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • 2–4 years of experience working with youth or underserved populations

  • Strong communication, organization, and public speaking skills

  • Knowledge of local housing and community resources

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office technology

  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license and clean driving record required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Wage: $19.00 – $19.75 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
